Grandfather Home for Children offers a wide array of services to help children and youth overcome the abuse and neglect that they have experienced. The combination of our services constitutes a Continuum of Care.
Several years ago, we created this continuum of care as a natural extension of our residential program in Banner Elk to assist in the transition of children from residential treatment back into the community. You might think of the continuum of care as a set of stairs. Children can enter Grandfather Home at any point on the “stairs,” and we can move them up or down based on their specific needs. This offers great flexibility in caring for children as their needs change. As a child shows progress, he or she is able to stay under our umbrella of care and go to a less restrictive environment to better meet his individual needs.
