Our goal is to keep the alumni of Grandfather Mountain Home connected by encouraging communication through publications and person-to-person contacts.

As our new calendar year unfolds, we are looking forward to the beginning of the Grandfather Home Centennial Celebration. The schedule of events and dates are listed on this web site under the heading of "Centennial" on the Home page. You will see the Centennial icon on the upper right corner of the page.

 

 

A note from our new president

 

 

Thank you very much if you responded to our written request to update your contact information for our Alumni records. If for some reason you did not respond, that's okay. No pressure was intended. Our intent was to simply make sure that we have accurate contact information for each member of our group.

As a result of the request, I received several very nice phone calls, emails, cards and letters from Alumni, family of Alumni and friends of Grandfather Home. It was a real joy to hear from each person. I also enjoyed sharing stories and information from days past at Grandfather Home.

Please feel free to contact me or Wanda Bentley, our Alumni Group secretary, at any time, with updates about yourself or other members of our group. We really would be delighted to hear from you. Start making your plans now to attend the July 27-28, 2013, weekend. That's the Homecoming Weekend. The Festival and Down Home Dinner will be held on Saturday, July 27th and the Homecoming and lunch after church will be held on Sunday, July 28th.  We will have a short Alumni meeting after lunch on Sunday. We would be so happy if you could attend either one or both of those dates but in particular the Sunday event. That's usually when the largest number of Alumni are present, and I know you would enjoy visiting with each other. Make your plans now!
